Larry's Corner - Studying God's Word Together
Put on the Lord Jesus Christ

I believe we are living in the last generation. In these final days, there are wars and rumors of wars, greed that has
permeated much of the world leaders and ruling factions of our day. Right now, there is a race for nuclear
power/weapons in many countries lead by terrorist regimes. The world banking system has a firm grip on the
financial throats of people world wide, as they have become increasingly dependent on governments and the
banking community than ever before.

Children of God can no longer be status quo Christians any longer. You are either for Christ or you are not. You are
either sanctified or not. James 3:18, “show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
Now works does not save, but I believe we’re called to live out our faith, to focus our gaze on Jesus and follow Him.

    Hebrews 12:1-2,
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that
hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured
the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    Romans 13:11-14
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber,
because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is
almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave
decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not
in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about
how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Paul is telling us to “wake up”. Wake up from spiritual apathy. Wake up from spiritual lethargy and stop being
unresponsive to the things of God. The coming of the day of the Lord is near, but darkness and sin have covered
the earth.  13:13 says “let us behave properly”. We do this by living a life pleasing to God, manifesting in our
outward behavior the inner reality of a redeemed life.

Put on the armor of light, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and be sanctified.  Here’s what sanctify means: Purify, to set
apart to a sacred purpose, to be free from sin. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ!  We need sanctification of motives. We
need sanctification of desires. We need sanctification of attitudes. We need sanctification of a right spirit. We need
sanctification of our flesh.

    Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I believe we are about to see changes in the world we never even thought of. But praise be to God who sits on the
throne, for He knows all things, He sees all things, and nothing, absolutely nothing takes Him by surprise.
Put on the Lord Jesus Christ!
